Funny story!

I'm not even sure when the last time I updated was. Either way, I graduated..not sue if it has been that long. Something funny happened today, I thought I'd share.

A letter dated June 19, 2003 from Karyn Polito (State Representative)it reads:

Dear Donna,
I would like to take a moment to congratulate you on the successful completion of your high school education. (I am not Donna, my name is Erica..) As I am sure you know, this is a remarkable achievement and you should be very proud of this hard earned accomplishment. (Remarkable because a good portion of the American population graduates from high school? ok..)

blah blah blah

On behalf of the House of Representatives, please accept my sincere congratulations and best wishes for a happy and safe summer and much success along the paths of life you choose to persue. If my office can ever be of any assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Sincerely, Karyn E. Polito

Ok, so it was a nice thought..you know, congratulating all the seniors at SHS who graduated. Thanks for thinking that way. However, send the letter to the RIGHT PERSON! Here's some background info. Donna is my mother!!! (If I knew how to make something bold, I would.) That's rediculous..it's a little late she graduated from high school 25 years ago. Again, nice thought but I've been working hard for the past 8 years in the Shrewsbury school system. Again, no recognition for trying. Evidentally the Commonwealth of Massachusetts doesn't recognize me as a high school graduate. At least I have the diploma..my name is on that.

Just thought it was a funny story. I'm really not bitter about it at all, I just think it is a bit ironic..

Hope everyone's summer is going well!!!

One week until Virginia. I am so excited to be going on this trip. A lot of interesting things have happened because COE is over. I have finally found people I can consider my friends. Its awesome having people like that. Before, there were a few of them, but in reality, they aren't my friends.
So its April vacation..friday through sunday I was on the cape, Monday I went to Jasons, played capture the flag for the first time in SO long. We were playing in the rain-it was awesome. Tonight went to Julia's. It was so random, but it was a lot of fun.
I really love these new people. I am so fortunate to have met them this year :) Good night

Just over 20 days until graduation!!!
